A Class Action Settlement has been proposed in a case alleging that certain Hyundai vehicles were sold and leased with a defect in their Anti-Lock Brake System (“ABS”) control modules that can result in engine compartment fires and the loss of ABS functionality.
You may be eligible for benefits of the Class Action Settlement if you owned or leased one of the following vehicle models in the United States, including those purchased while you were abroad on active U.S. military duty: 2014-2021 Hyundai Tucson, 2007, 2016-2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2013-2015, 2017-2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL, 2006-2011 Hyundai Azera, 2017-2020 Genesis G80, 2019-2021 Genesis G70, 2015-2016 Hyundai Genesis, 2007-2010 Hyundai Elantra, 2009-2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring, 2006 Sonata, or 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage.
*On July 13, 2023, an appeal from the Final Approval Order and Judgment was filed in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal. The Effective Date of the Court approval of the settlement cannot be determined until after this appeal has been resolved. Although HMA will continue to process claims under the settlement, claims and other settlement benefits will not be available or paid until the Ninth Circuit appellate court has ruled on the appeal.
